Donehue

Sean Donehue is a 26-year-old queer māori session musician, vocalist and songwriter from Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. He has worked as a singer, writer and/or arranger for artists (incl. Em Rusciano, Kaiit, Bachelor Girl, Emily Williams, Chong Lim), national televised events (incl. AFL Grand Final, Australian Open, Melbourne Cup), Film (incl. The Rooster, Seriously Red), famed musical festivals (incl. Beyond The Valley, Strawberry Fields, Golden Plains, Sydney Fest, NYE on the Hill) and is the MD and lead vocalist of Sunshine and the Disco Faith Choir which recently signed to Lonely Lands Agency alongside Tones and I, Tash Sultana and Boy and Bear. He is also an awarded songwriter with “The American Song Contest” and the global comp “Unsigned Only”. Sean is a co-founder and director of Naarm based vocal group SONARIO and a sought after vocal coach for industry professionals.

Sean was awarded a scholarship to The Australian Institute of Music and graduated with High Distinction by only age 19. With roots in professional theatre (Opera Australia) Sean is also the composer/lyricist of BEARDED alongside Nick Waxman; the show was shortlisted for the prestigious 2021 APRA AMCOS Professional Development Awards and has received developmental funding from the AMTF Residency Development Program, The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Homegrown Theatre Co. and received it’s first full staging as part of Frankston City Council’s Artist Grant program, playing a sold out season.
